Famous Ohio University Alumni (Part-3)

The world is filled with famous Bobcats.

This is Part Three (and our final installment) of this series, you can view Part One and Part Two

It wasn’t too long ago that many of them walked the brick streets of Athens Ohio. And many of them they lived the same Athens apartments that are filled with Bobcats today.

They may not have all graduated, but they took classes here and lived in Ohio University apartments.

Here are a few more famous Bobcats:

Peter King – One of the best-known sports journalists in America is Peter King. King earned a journalism degree from Ohio University and then became a respected writer with Sports Illustrated. You can also see him on television today, providing NFL news and updates. He speaks often about his time at OHIO and has come back to campus several times.

Sarah Jessica Parker (kind of a Bobcat) – While she didn’t actually attend Ohio University, we can call the Sex and the City star an honorary Bobcat. She was born in the sexy city of Nelsonville. She moved with her family to Cincinnati when she was 4, but she got her start in Athens County.

Logan Paul and a controversial leader of Fox News

Logan Paul – The YouTube star, social media personality and professional boxer seems to be everywhere these days. It wasn’t long ago, though, that he was studying industrial engineering at Ohio University. He was already active on YouTube and Vine while he was at OHIO. In 2014, he dropped out to work full-time as a social media entertainer. Today, he is in movies and television, and he has headlined major boxing events. He has also been at the center of several controversies. Like him or not, today he is one of the more famous Bobcats in the world.

Roger Ailes – Another controversial Bobcat is Roger Ailes, the former leader of Fox News. He also was a media consultant to several Republican presidents. Originally from Ohio, Ailes majored in radio and television at Ohio University. He graduated in 1962 and was active with the university over the years. In fact, the Roger E. Ailes Newsroom at one time was used to house WOUB Public Media. Hs name was taken off of the newsroom in 2016

Allie LaForce – An Emmy-nominated and very popular television sports broadcaster, LaForce is a proud graduate. She earned her degree from the Honors Tutorial College in 2011. She stays active with the university and even spoke at Commencement in 2018.

Richard Dean Anderson – Best known as the famous television character MacGyver, Richard Dean Anderson got his start at Ohio University. While this Bobcat left town just before graduating, he went on to a very successful career. His career also includes time on the popular soap opera General Hospital.

It will be interesting to see which of the Bobcats living in our apartments today become famous next.
