Below, you will find some frequently asked questions that we often receive here at OU Rentals. Do you have a specific question? Don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll do our best to meet your needs. How soon can I rent a unit for next year?

If you see a unit that is listed as available for next year, you can contact us at any time. We will be happy to talk with you about it. You don’t have to wait for any deadline. If we have it on our website and you are interested, you can contact us today.

Do you have units that are available right now?

It is true that our units are in high demand and it is smart to sign your lease early. We do, however, have units that come available at different times throughout the year. If you are looking for a unit that is open right now, we encourage you to check the listings on our website. We hope you will also contact our staff members for more information.

What do I do when I find unit I am interested in renting?

The first thing to do is to contact our leasing agents. We will make an appointment with you so that you can see the rental unit in person. We will answer your questions and provide you with information on the Athens Ohio apartment.

Do you allow subleasing?

Yes, we do allow subleasing. Please refer to the documents section of our website.

How can I make my payment?

At this time University Rentals accepts any form of payment except Debit and Credit cards. Payments are payable to University Rentals and can either be made in person or mailed to our office at: University Rentals 14 North Court Street Suite 208 Athens, Ohio 45701.

When will my payments be due?

Payments are due on a Semester basis. First payment is due April 1, which pays for May June July and August. Next payment is due August 1, which pays for September October November and December. Last payment is due December 1, which pays for January February March and April.

What do I need to do if my rental will not be occupied during winter break?

PLEASE DO NOT TURN HEAT OFF. Thermostats are to be at a minimum of 63 degrees. It also helps to leave cold water drip in sinks and open cabinets to expose piping to warmth.

Do you have full time maintenance?

We do have a full time maintenance department. When you move in, you have access to a specific maintenance employee for the year and will have access to his phone number. You may also refer to the maintenance page on our website.

Are pets allowed?

It depends on the unit you want to rent. Pets are welcome in some of our rentals, but are not allowed in others due to a variety of factors. Our property listings will tell you if pets are allowed, and you can also ask our leasing agents for more information
