Summer Fests in Athens 2022
Athens Ohio is a great place to live in the summer. The city is much quieter, but there are plenty of concerts and special events to look forward to.
Nelsonville Music Festival – One of the biggest events of the summer is the Nelsonville Music Festival. This amazing event draws national performers, regional acts and large crowds every year. The pandemic changed things in the last two years, just as it did for everything. This year, it will be back in full force and promises to be a memorable event. The Nelsonville Music Fest will be held Sept. 2-4 this year, so it will be a little later than usual. The wait, though, will be worth it. Ohio Brew Week – Another annual highlight is the Ohio Brew Week. Held in Athens, Brew Week this year will be July 8-16, 2022. It is a full nine days devoted to beer! You can try different beers, listen to great music and enjoy this beer bonanza. Also, all of the events are a short walk from your apartment or rental house in Athens. Food, more music, baseball and other events
Taste of Athens County Food Festival – Held on May 14, 2022, in Uptown Athens, this event highlights local foods. It also features live music, food demos, vendors and events for all ages. It is another event right next to the Uptown Athens apartments, and close to nearly all Athens rentals.
Black Diamond Music and Arts Festival – This event is held at Hocking College, also located in Athens County. A short drive from your Athens apartments, the June 10-11 event bills focuses on bluegrass and country music. This year’s festival will feature nationally-known musicians and regional acts. Southern Ohio Copperheads – If you are looking for additional summer events, check out Copperheads baseball. The team is made up of some of the best college baseball players in the Midwest. The Copperheads play in Athens on the Ohio University campus. The games are fun, the organizers plan special events and the stadium is great. If you live in an Athens apartment over the summer, you need to spend an evening watching the Copperheads. For more information, check out the Copperheads website.
So many other events – All throughout the summer, the Uptown Athens bars will bring in live music. You can also find local theater performances, food events, and even racing at places such as the Sunday Creek Raceway.
