Some Perks to Living Alone
Now this is a story all about how, my life got flipped, turned upside down. I’d like to take a minute, just sit there and listen, I’ll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Athens. Ok, I’m not going to sing anymore, but it is a pretty good story.
It all started when I lived in a four bedroom rental in Athens. I loved the place, and I was very happy with my housemates. It was fun to live with friends. We studied together. We socialized together. We watched movies together. We even cleaned the house together. We did everything together. And that was great, until it wasn’t anymore.
After a while, I got tired of doing everything with my housemates. So, when my lease was up, I decided to move into my own one bedroom apartment.
And that, my friends, was when I saw the light. I had no idea I would like my own apartment in Athens Ohio so much, but I love it. I control the furniture, temperature and even the TV!
Here are a few reasons why I love my one person apartment:
* I am able to arrange the furniture just how I like. If I want to move a chair, I move a chair. I decide on the posters. I decide where to keep the toaster. It is my kingdom, and I am all-powerful!
* I am able to buy food without my housemates eating it. I don’t mind sharing, but I do mind when I buy food and a roommate eats all of it. Now, I control what is in the refrigerator. I no longer have to hide bags of chips. I can go to sleep with pizza in the fridge and then wake up with it still there.
* I control the thermostat. It is the best!
* No one else is making a mess in the bathroom. No one else is leaving toothpaste all over the sink. The only dirty clothes on the floor are mine. I don’t have any more surprises caused by the toilet paper being all used up.
* It is quiet. Sometimes, I want to just be by myself, and it is nice to have my own space.
* I can have over any guest that I want. I don’t have to worry about housemates interrupting me and a guest. I can still socialize as much as I want, but I control the space.
* The price is still very affordable. I thought it would be more expensive to rent a one bedroom apartment in Athens. The prices are very reasonable, though, and it is worth it.
